Kevin Guskiewicz, the chair of the department of Exercise and Sports Sciences, has been awarded one of this year's 22 MacArthur fellowships, informally known as "Genius Grants." The $500,000 grant is intended to give recipients "unprecedented freedom and opportunity to reflect, create, and explore." Guskiewicz's research focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sports-related brain injuries.
