Carolina is Named #1 Value in Public Education by Kiplinger's

Just announced today, Carolina was named as the number one value in American public higher education for our high-quality academics at an affordable price, according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.

For the 11th consecutive time since Kiplinger's began compiling its list in 1998, Carolina ranked first on the list of the 100 universities and colleges that provide the best value to in-state students. The magazine also listed Carolina number one for the value offered to out-of-state students.

The new ranking appears in the February issue, and was posted today at Kiplinger's.

  1. I am very happy to see that if I am accepted to UNC ,Chapel Hill ,not only will I receive a fantastic education but one of superb economic value. The former excites me while the latter keeps the corners of my parents lips curved up(as in happy).

  2. thank you for replying to me! It was a bit complicated how I didn't get to know about the toefl. I am in a process of being adapted and heard that the green card will come out in about 2 or 3 months. And the lawyer said that I will be applying as a permanent resident. But then, I found out that I might have to apply as an international student and got to read that students whose English is not their first language have to take either toefl or that other thing you said. Since there was no mention about toefl under the first-year students, I thought it was not required until, again, I found out I might have to apply as an international student... hmm, if I do not get to take the toefl, how disadvantaged will I be?

  8. My son applied Early Action. Along with his mid-year report card, can he also submit his up-to-date Activities Resume, and his up-to-date Piano supplement & cd?
